X Kyle M Thompson...
Is it just me for whom Firefox 2 crashes continually? It seemed fine

Thom White...
It /did/ crash all the time - but the latest version is really well
behaved. Are you using one of the release candidates?

It mainly used to crash on wake though, and never during browsing.

until I deleted the old version, and now it crashes with regular
monotony.

Cap'n...
Well, V2 has been fine for me - although I *still* can't right-click &
select 'Save Image As...' (well I can, but nothing happens). Been like
that since V1... :-(

Jochem Huhmann...
I've read the files go to your home directory instead of the desktop...

peter...
Really? In 1.5.0.7 I get a 'Save as' dialogue, so I can choose where it
goes, and once set it remembers the target directory so all I have to do
is .

Thom White...
Aha. I've noticed that if I drag an attachment from Thunderbird to my
desktop, it will often arrive in my home directory.

Is this a 'feature'?

Jochem Huhmann...

Mark...
OK - I'll check later. But they just 'go there'? Without actually asking you
*where* you wanted them? 'Save Image As...' seems to me a question that's
expecting an answer!

Rexx Magnus...
Generally, menu options that are followed with the '...' are supposed
to present a dialog box, so you're not wrong there.
Looks very much like a bug to me.

bounce.this...
I've noticed that jpegs render differently in Safari and Firefox (the
new one) - here's a screen capture of the simulataneous browsers ...

different engines?

I dunno, but I prefer the rendering of Safari, on the right in the
example

peter...
Much more saturated, isn't it? I much prefer the one on the left.

Chris Ridd...
Safari uses ColorSync and I'd be surprised if Firefox does. I bet that
explains the difference.
I am using the release British English version

Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X; en-GB; rv:1.8.1)
Gecko/20061010 Firefox/2.0

X Kyle M Thompson...
Mine crashes randomly.

Have you tried deleting its profile folder then relaunching (back it up
first so you can restore your bookmarks etc)?
