THERE IS NO DEMAND
THERE IS NO DEMAND stated Todd Daugherty N9OGL on QRZ. N9OGL has been
criticized as a Glenn Baxter K1MAN supporter by the Anti-K1MAN group,
yet this is not true. N9OGL, which runs his own information bulletin on
the 20 meter band questions the FCC action due to the vagueness of the
rules regarding information bulletins. The FCC rules state an
information bulletin is "A message directed only to amateur operators
consisting solely of subject matter of direct interest to the amateur
service." (47 CFR 97.3(25)) The material doesn't have to be about
amateur radio, only of interest to amateur radio.
Recently N9OGL posted on QRZ that this idea by amateur's who feel that
the amateur service would become a wasteland of information bulletins
wasn't true. The reason is that the demand for information bulletin
isn't there, if it was there then there would be room to panic. But the
fact is not all amateur radio stations want to run an information
bulletin. An amateur would rather talk two way then one way, thus the
demand to run an information bulletin isn't there. Just like beacons,
there's a lot of beacons out there but not all amateurs are running one,
the demand to run one isn't there.

N9OGL COMPLETE POST
N1LAF said: Those who want to broadcast should look at streaming on the
internet... bigger audience too
That's the problem, everyone and their mother can internet broadcast,
there's too much diversity and not enough of audience. I've been
streaming broadcasting for the last four days and in that time I've only
had one person listen. Secondly I believe information bulletins can be
used for the purpose of not only for informing amateurs but for the
purpose of educating amateurs as well.
