Beer is cold, soda is too. Grab whatcha want. Got a box of them foo-foo
bagels on the table, too.
2005 FLHT Electra Glide Standard.
I inherited a generic non-HD (gasp!) tour pack from a friend, and I'm
gonna dink with it and see if it'll fit on the bike. Looking in my
Service Manual I cannot find any part numbers/pictures/reference to the
mount for a tour pack. Does anyone know right off hand if this mount

That's cuz it's in the parts manual!

will work on a Standard with a stock 2-up seat?

A spendier option might be to go detachable. Then you can easily take the
thing off when you arn't touring.
You'll still have to deal with how to mount it to the non-hd tour-pak ...
If you're interested, I wrote up a wrench report, with p/ns when I did it

Maybe I'll go take some pics of the Roach Detachable Tour Pack
and post them.

A classic ... Who is it that showed up to EKIII '04 with the "Tour Plank"?

Guilty as charged. Can't find a pic of it though.
It's been superceded by a late '70s King Tourpack thats self-induced
and questionably structurally sound fiberglass repairs have been
hidden by a copious roller-applied coating of black bedliner after
being modified from its original 3-rail mounting to fit the FLHTI's
4-rail.

Looks just like the tour pack mount on my Ultra (from looking at the
2004 touring parts manual, page 70).
H-D's tour pack is grooved underneath, and the mount fits into that
groove. Don't know what kind of trunk you have, but you should be able
to make it fit somehow.

Thanks for the reply.

My main concern was that the mount will fit the bike. Sounds like it
will.

Yep. FWIW, the item in the auction consists of two parts (and
fasteners):
53801-98 TUBE SUPPORT, TOP (MSRP $67.50)
53375-97A LICENSE PLATE HOLDER (MSRP $21.00)
Seems like the Ebay guy is straightforward--he warns of '06 bikes (and I
ain't sure that part will fit an '06 either).

According to my 06 parts catalog, it will fit. Those are the exact part
numbers used on page 73.

I don't think I'll have much problem getting the trunk on the mount.
Gonna make sure it is mounted so vibration won't pull the bolts out of
the bottom of it, though. I've heard that is a problem on some bikes.
Bunch of big-ass washers and rubber insulators should do it. It was on
an older Honda cruiser my neighbor used to ride. It isn't real
substantial, just a thin fiber glass tour pack, but it oughta hold a
couple old T-shirts and a pair of bibs. Or some beer.

I hope so, cuz since I'm a newbie at e-Bay, I just put a bid on it by
accident. Thought I had one more button to push before my bid was
confirmed - but I didn't. Duh. At least my bid amount was right.
